Isle of Tiree Images > Other Collections > Geology > Crystals eroded out by sea, Geology
The rocks on the right show how the sea has eroded out softer crystals with the rock leaving a 'honey comb' of harder material. Tiree, only about 12 miles long, lies some 60miles from the mainland of Scotland and offers a uniquely stunning landscape. The bays of white sand, the rich diversity of wildlife, the quiet roads and relaxed atmosphere keeps tourists coming back to Tiree. For more details go to the Panoramic Photographs pages.
