Tiree - Rescue Craft, Ferry Trip from Oban

CalMac ferries carry rescue craft. On some crossings these will be launched as part of a safety drill. This adds a few minutes to the journey but does offer an interesting spectacle as the craft is dropped into the sea and speeds off.

The island of Tiree is located beyond Mull on the fringe of the Atlantic. It is the remotest of the Inner Hebrides. Wide expanses of clean sand, surfing, sailing, traditional agriculture and relaxed way of life keeps tourists coming back to Tiree. For details visit the Overview of Tiree page.
