The ancient Lewisian gneiss and metasediments, with granite intrusions, at Caoles are well worth exploring. The remote Isle of Tiree lies some 60miles from the mainland of Scotland. Each Hebridean island is unique and Tiree is no exception. The ever changing sea, birds, including the rare Corncrake, fine local produce and ever changing colours has become a magnet for outdoor enthusiasts.
