Isle of Tiree Photos > Other Collections > Ben Hough
Ben Hough, at a modest height of 119m, is one of near flat Tiree's notable hills and can be seen from most parts of the island. Accordingly the summit of Ben Hough offers good views across almost the entire island. A communications tower is situated on Ben Hough's close neighbour Ben Mhurstat which at 116m is almost as high. From the distance these two peaks appear to form one continuous ridge. However, there is a significant 'pass' between them. A long concrete staircase rise from Hough House to the top of Ben Hough. These were constructed by the RAF to allow easy ascent to buildings at the top of the hill. These images are strictly copyright. You must not use these anywhere without first seeking permission. |
